Week 9 has arrived, and we’re officially deep into the fantasy football grind. By this point, trends have turned into truths — we know who the real difference-makers are and which preseason sleepers have fizzled out. Still, no fantasy season ever goes as planned. Injuries keep shaking up lineups (Cam Skattebo owners, we feel your pain), roles are shifting across depth charts, and unexpected performances continue to rewrite expectations (Broncos WR Troy Franklin?!?).
This week, we’re breaking down every Week 9 matchup with detailed game-by-game insights — highlighting who deserves a starting spot and who’s safer left on your bench. We’ll cover the best waiver wire pickups, identify under-the-radar plays that could win you the week, and flag a few betting angles worth tracking. Whether you’re sitting pretty in first place or trying to claw back into contention, our Week 9 fantasy guide has you covered.
Baltimore Ravens (2-5) @ Miami Dolphins (2-6) - Thursday, 8:15 PM ET
Quick Take:
Miami's dominant win against the Falcons was one nobody saw coming, but the Ravens also surprised people, upsetting the Bears with a win at home with backup QB Tyler "Snoop" Huntley under center. If Lamar Jackson plays, this game could get ugly for Miami, but even if Huntley plays, we are confident in the Ravens getting back-to-back wins. If Jackson plays, I expect a monster game from veteran TE Mark Andrews. Expect a very high-scoring game. Pick: Ravens win comfortably, not close.

San Francisco 49ers (5-3) @ New York Giants (2-6) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
San Francisco is coming off a disappointing loss to the Texans, but the near return of QB Brock Purdy and WR Ricky Pearsall, and a somewhat easy matchup bring new hope. The Giants just got embarrassed by the Eagles and lost star rookie RB Cam Skattebo to a season-ending ankle injury. The Giants will need to control the clock if they hope to win this game at MetLife. However, we do not see that happening. A breakout for veteran WR Jauan Jennings is in the cards for this week. Pick: 49ers win moderately.

Chicago Bears (4-3) @ Cincinnatti Bengals(3-5) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
The Bears are coming off a bad loss to backup QB Snoop Huntley and the Ravens, while the Bengals lost in a shootout to the then-winless New York Jets. If there are any breakouts this week, it will be Kyle Monangai and Colston Loveland. With D'Andre Swift out and Cole Kmet banged up, both rookies are in position to break out against the awful Bengals defense. Expect a shootout in Cincy. Pick: Bears win, VERY close.

Minnesota Vikings (3-4) @ Detroit Lions (5-2) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
The Lions have been dominant this season, while the Vikings are coming off a Thursday Night loss to the Chargers at home and just received news that their backup QB, Carson Wentz, will be out for the remainder of the season. However, rookie JJ McCarthy will make it for this week's matchup, but the Lions should still get a home victory. Expect a very high-scoring game. We see a potential major bounce-back game for Lions' WR Jameson Williams after coming off a zero catch performance in week 8. Do not count out Minnesota, but we like Detroit in this one. Pick: Lions win in a close game.

Denver Broncos (6-2) @ Houston Texans(3-4) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
Both teams have been playing good football and are both coming off victories. The Broncos' defense might just be too good for CJ Stroud and the Texans. The Broncos tend to play teams close and win with their fourth-quarter magic, and we can see that happening again. Expect a lot of field goals. Pick: Broncos win in a close, low-scoring affair.

Atlanta Falcons (3-4) @ New England Patriots (6-2) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
Maybe the Falcons were just too good to be true. If Kirk Cousins starts again and Michael Penix cannot suit up, the Pats should dominate. If Penix plays, we still do not see this game going any differently, but instead being within 10 points. The Pats are playing great football. This is finally the week for the rookie RB Treveyon Henderson's breakout. Plain and simple. Pick: Patriots win comfortably, semi-close.

Indianapolis Colts (7-1) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
The Colts have been spectacular this season, to say the least. Daniel Jones is in serious MVP talks right now, and Jonathan Taylor is having his best season of his career. The Steelers, though, have a great pass rush, and Aaron Rodgers is truly having a very good season. This is the defense to slow Daniel Jones down, but we just cannot bet against the dominant Colts. Pick: Colts win in a close game.

Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) @ Tennessee Titans (1-7) - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET
Quick Take:
The Titans are a terrible football team. Although we love and feel for Cam Ward, the Chargers are playing elite football, and the Titans' defense has been awful. Expect a blowout. Hopefully, WR Quentin Johnston also bounces back this week, and Titans rookie WR Chimere Dike continues his breakout. Pick: Chargers win comfortably, not close.

Quick Take:
The same thing goes for this game. Whether rookie QB Tyler Shough plays or Spencer Rattler, it will not matter. The Saints are not playing good football, while the Rams have been great and will likely have star WR Puka Nacua back. Expect a high-scoring game that ends with a 7+ point victory for the Rams. Quick Take:
The Jags should win this game. Their defense has been very good, and surprisingly, their offense has not completely sucked. The Raiders are not playing good football, and while star Maxx Crosby has been elite, the rest of their defense has sucked. Pick: Jaguars win, maybe closer than expected?

Quick Take:
This game could go either way. The Bills started off the season slowly but are coming off a blowout victory against the Panthers, which should boost their morale. The Chiefs have also been playing good football, though. This matchup should have fireworks and be high-scoring, but could go either way. It is really a toss-up. Washington Commanders (5-2) @ Seattle Seahawks (3-4) - Sunday, 8:20 PM ET
Quick Take:
The Seahawks offense has been amazing this season. Their secondary has had its ups and downs, with rookie safety Nick Emmanwori playing amazingly while CB Riq Woolen has not been great.
